Rovers add award-winning goalkeeper Harrison Male

Tranmere Rovers have completed the signing of goalkeeper Harrison Male on a one-year contract, adding an accomplished and in-form shot-stopper to Darrell Clarke’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The 25-year-old arrives after helping York City win promotion to League Two as National League champions last season. Male kept 19 clean sheets during the campaign and collected the National League Golden Glove for a second consecutive season.

Male developed in the Leeds United academy before building his senior experience with Worthing and Dorking Wanderers. He joined York in 2024 and has also represented England at under-15, under-16 and under-17 level, as well as earning an England C cap in 2023.

Rovers supporters have already had an early look at the new arrival. Male played the full match and kept a clean sheet in the recent 3-0 pre-season victory over the PFA.

What he brings to Prenton Park

Male’s recent record speaks for itself. His shot-stopping, command of the penalty area and experience of a successful promotion campaign should bring valuable competition and confidence to Tranmere’s goalkeeping department.

Still only 25, he arrives with significant senior experience and room to develop further. After two outstanding seasons at National League level, the move offers him an opportunity to establish himself in the EFL while helping Rovers push forward under Clarke.

Welcome to Tranmere, Harrison!
