Alan Hay

Scottish left-back Alan Browning Hay began with Dundee after winning the Scottish Under-16 Cup with Riverside Boys Club. He moved to Bolton Wanderers in 1977 and then Bristol City, where he made his top-flight debut against Everton in September 1979.

Hay joined York City in 1982 and was part of the side that eliminated Arsenal from the FA Cup in 1985. He signed for Tranmere Rovers from York in August 1986, later playing non-league football with Hill of Beath Hawthorn before returning to York. Brief spells with Sunderland and Torquay United completed his Football League career.
