Flamboyant player-manager famous for a very attacking team in the mid-eighties - but one which suffered under the financial constraints of the Bruce Osterman regime.

He did however make some signings that would prove to be crucial under his successor John King - with Ian Muir, John Morrissey, mark Hughes and Steve Vickers all being brought in during his tenure.
