Jason Lowe

Jason Lowe is an experienced English midfielder who joined Tranmere Rovers in 2025 after a long career across the top four divisions. Born in Wigan in September 1991, he came through the youth system at Blackburn Rovers, making his senior debut in the Premier League and going on to feature regularly for the club in both the top flight and the Championship. Comfortable as a defensive midfielder or at right-back, Lowe built a reputation as a hard-working, reliable player with leadership qualities rather than attacking flair.After leaving Blackburn in 2017, he spent a season at Birmingham City before moving to Bolton Wanderers, where he captained the side during a turbulent period for the club. He later became a key figure at Salford City, notably scoring the winning penalty in their 2020 EFL Trophy final victory.

In 2023 he joined Port Vale, helping them to promotion from League Two in 2024–25, before linking up again with manager Andy Crosby at Prenton Park.Internationally, Lowe represented England at youth level, captaining the U20s at the 2011 FIFA U20 World Cup and earning further caps with the U21s. Now in his mid-30s, he brings considerable experience and versatility to Tranmere. While not a prolific goalscorer, his strengths lie in his positional discipline, defensive work, and leadership, making him a steadying influence for a side aiming to progress in League Two.
