Tranmere story

John Joseph Welsh, born on January 10, 1984, is an English former professional footballer who primarily played as a midfielder. Welsh began his career at Liverpool and went on to play for various clubs including Hull City, Chester City, Carlisle United, Bury, Tranmere Rovers, and Grimsby Town.

Welsh joined Tranmere Rovers in July 2009 under the management of John Barnes. Despite managerial changes, Welsh continued his career at Tranmere Rovers before later playing at semi-professional level with Atherton Collieries in 2019.

As of October 8, 2021, John Welsh officially retired from professional football. He had a notable career that included playing in the Premier League for Liverpool and featured for clubs in various English leagues such as the Championship and League Two.
