Description

Mark Rankine is an English former footballer born on September 30, 1969. He began his career with Doncaster Rovers before playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Preston North End, and Sheffield United. In 2004, Rankine joined Tranmere Rovers on a free transfer from Sheffield United. He made his debut for Tranmere on August 7, 2004, against Peterborough. During his time with Tranmere, Rankine made 76 appearances, including 72 starts and 4 substitute appearances, and scored 1 goal. He retired from professional football in 2006 after leaving Tranmere. Throughout his career, Rankine made a total of 618 domestic league appearances and scored 33 goals. Notably, he is the uncle of Tottenham and England full-back Danny Rose.
