Joe Murphy

Joe Murphy is an Irish professional footballer born on August 21, 1981, in Dublin. He plays as a goalkeeper for Tranmere Rovers and has made over 500 appearances in the Football League. Murphy began his career with Tranmere Rovers and has also played for other clubs. He joined Tranmere Rovers in August 2020 from Shrewsbury Town. Murphy signed a new one-year contract with Tranmere Rovers in April 2024, which will see him continue as both a player and the goalkeeping coach for the 2024/25 season. He is a valuable member of both the coaching staff and playing squad, serving as back-up to the regular number one goalkeeper.
